About Mrs. Clifton
Welcome to Kindergarten at Anderson-Livsey Elementary School! My name is Beth Clifton. This will be my fourteenth year teaching and my fourth year teaching kindergarten. I taught third grade in Newton County for three years before getting married and moving to Gwinnett County where I taught at Britt Elementary for six years before coming to ALES. I taught third grade for my first three years with Gwinnett County Public Schools and then taught small reading and math groups for grades K-5 for two years before becoming a first grade teacher for two years and then moving to kindergarten. I am enjoying kindergarten and love to see the huge growth made from August to May.
I would also like to take this time to tell you a little bit more about myself. I am one of four children who was born and raised on a dairy farm in Greene County, GA. I have two brothers and one sister. My sister is also a teacher and has been teaching high school for twelve years. I married my husband, Chad, in June 2004 and moved to Gwinnett County. We live in Snellville and had our first child, a little girl, in February 2010 named Kaeley. We also have one dog named Minnie since I’m a Disney fan. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University in May 2001. I went back to school in 2003 and earned my Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Troy State University in June 2004. I received an ESOL Endorsement in 2008. I have also participated in many staff development classes since I started teaching to continue learning new and exciting ways to engage students in learning.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year and getting to know you and your child better. I hold high expectations for my students and look forward to working with your family to make this a successful year “Providing Learning that Lasts a Lifetime” at Anderson-Livsey Elementary School.
